He was born in Kassel, Germany in 1971 and studied business administration at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen from 1990 to 1995. Following that he began as a junior consultant at GMO Management Consulting, Düsseldorf. In succeeding years, he worked as a consultant at the German Association for Medium-Sized Enterprises and for Arthur Andersen and was finally a senior manager at Deloitte Consulting in Frankfurt before making the move into the management of his own family's company.
Dr. Torsten Rudolph received his doctorate in 2009 from the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg with his thesis "Strategies of Logistic Service Providers in the Contract Logistics Market".
